Basic financial knowledge should be a required part of our education cirriculum as sooner or later, we all have to deal with essential questions like:
- How much money am I saving? What are my biggest expenses?
- How do mortgages work over time?
- What does a balanced investment portfolio look like?
- What factors should I look into to decide whether to buy a house or continue renting?
Instead, we often find ourselves flailing around these concepts when we encounter a life event that requires knowing it. Not ideal.
I started building Nanoconomy to visualize and better understand my little family's finances.
Today, Nanoconomy is used by several others to make better financial decisions.
I don't intend to charge for this app. Household financial knowledge and tools are essential for everyone and there should be no gatekeeping around it. My hope is that when my 2 year old is a young adult, none of these concepts come as a surprise to her.
